Title: TNE Fall Workshop on Clinical Practice
Dates: 11/28/2007 - 11/29/2007
Location: Sanibel Harbor Spa and Resort
Sponsor: Carnegie Corporation of New York
The workshop will focus on building a clinical practice continuum linking teacher candidates’ training to their experiences in K-12 classrooms. The event will feature panel discussions moderated by Tom Carroll, president of the National Commission on Teaching and America's Future, on clinical practice issues related to curriculum reform, candidate placements, assessment, and K-12 collaboration. Michael Strong, director of research at the New Teacher Center, will speak in an opening plenary session entitled, “What Does Research Tell Us about Clinical Practice?” Participants will also attend small group facilitated discussions on key challenges and strategies related to clinical practice. This event will take place with financial support from Carnegie Corporation of New York.
